Working in large series, Rebecca meticulously collects film stills from old movies, cataloguing and documenting similar moments between them. Her paintings capture small events from these films, decontextualized from their larger narratives. Presented in series based on actions (“Smoking Series”, “Tissue Series”, “Scissor Series”), they offer a rare opportunity to press ‘pause’ and reflect on repetition, common experience, and representation.
